Even with the Fourth of July being celebrated this year on a Wednesday, there is still plenty of activities to attend in celebration of America’s Independence Day. But what are you going to do to protect your hearing?
As your local Las Vegas hearing experts, we want you to have a great time on the Fourth of July while protecting your hearing. To help you achieve this, we have highlighted a few celebration hotspots along with our hearing protection tips.
Catch The Family-Friendly Fireworks Party At Station Casinos
The Station Casinos are ready to wow the whole family with their nine-minute firework show, which will be launched from three of their casinos at 9 pm: Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa, Green Valley Ranch Resort Spa & Casino, and a shared spot between Fiesta Rancho Hotel & Casino and Texas Station.
You can go to any of these three locations to be up close to the magic, but you and the family can also attend the block party between the Fiesta Rancho Hotel & Casino and the Texas Station. There will be food vendors, a kid fun zone, entertainment, and shopping from 4 pm to 11 pm. Admission to this event and the fireworks viewing is completely free.
Fireworks Watching Safety Tips – If you are watching the fireworks and not attending the block party, you may want to consider watching them from indoors, whether from your car or inside a building. This can help muffle the loudness of the fireworks while still allowing you to enjoy the show.
If you want to be outside for the show, consider bringing a pack of disposable ear plugs. It doesn’t cost much and it will help keep your ears from ringing. Also, if you have young children under 12, you definitely want to protect their hearing, as they have a greater hearing range than adults. Tinnitus doesn’t have an age cut-off on who it affects, so do your best to protect yourself and your family from any of the side effects of hearing loss.

Stop By The Henderson Independence Day Celebration
Just outside of Las Vegas proper, the City of Henderson will be hosting an Independence Day Celebration at Heritage Park. With games, food vendors, and other activities from 6 pm until the firework show at 9 pm, there will be plenty to do.
Fireworks Watching Safety Tips – Sounds which exceed 80 decibels can begin to damage your hearing. Most commercial firework shows average 150-170 decibels, yikes!
Do your best to stay away from the launch areas of commercial firework shows and wear earplugs as you watch. Also, if you have an infant or a child under a year old, you may want to stay inside for your fireworks watching. Not only are young children sensitive to the loud sounds but the sound pressure can damage an infant’s hearing.

Celebrating Independence Day With Fireworks At Home
If your family isn’t up to jostling through crowds to watch some fireworks, there’s nothing wrong with enjoying a Fourth of July celebration at home. But before you go and buy your fireworks, you may want to consider a few things.
Fireworks Handling Safety Tips – As it is illegal for Las Vegas residents in Clark County to set of airborne fireworks, your family should be safe from the noise these types of fireworks create. However, there are plenty of other fireworks which can also easily damage your hearing. Some steps you may want to take are:
- Wear earplugs when lighting fireworks
- Establish a safe area to set off fireworks
- Always ensure children have adult supervision
- Keep firework activity to under 15 minutes
