Back in early May 2018, Widex launched the Evoke hearing aids. Since the official launch of the Widex Evoke hearing aids, these smart hearing aids have been revolutionizing how hearing specialists view hearing technology.
How Widex Evoke Hearing Aids Work
If you have experience with hearing aids, “smart” is probably not how you would describe them. Older styles of hearing aids often required a lot of incremental adjustments to volume levels, and even modern hearing aids tend to require a great deal of input to achieve the results you want.
Widex saw the gap between hearing aid functionality and the daily reality of living with hearing aids and addressed it with the Widex Evoke hearing aids. These hearing aids can automatically adjust to the various sound environments you are in without your input.
For instance, say you are having a lunch meeting. This situation can be tough for someone with hearing aids, as other hearing aids usually deliver all sounds with equal priority. So, while you should be listening and participating in the lunchtime discussion, you are bombarded by the clink of silverware, the restaurant music, and other non-essential sounds.
Evoke hearing aids are equipped with SoundSense technology and would detect that you are in a noisy environment, lowering the volume on these non-essential sounds. These hearing aids can also differentiate between your lunchmates’ voices and background sounds, so these hearing aids will boost the volume at which you receive the conversational sounds.
You can also tailor your Evoke hearing aids through the EVOKE app. These corrections are shared with other Evoke users, so their hearing aids detect a similar situation to the one you corrected, the hearing aids will adjust automatically. Even better, your Evoke hearing aids will remember the correction and will automatically adjust if they detect a similar environment.
