One highly acclaimed hearing aid brand called Oticon has recently come out with new hearing aids—the Opn S. From the new recharging solution to the enhanced hearing, these hearing aids may be what you are looking for to up your hearing game.
Exciting New Features Of Oticon Opn S Hearing Aids
Like with all modern hearing aids, the Oticon Opn S hearing aids are packed with features to make your hearing experience better. Below are some of the top features that may be just what you are looking for in your new hearing aids.
360-degree hearing
Previously, hearing aids came with directional microphones, which allowed you to focus your hearing in one direction. While this feature had the benefit of allowing you to concentrate, it made things difficult when navigating a group setting.
To correct this issue, the Opn S comes with 360-degree hearing ability. It puts an emphasis on speech, allowing you to participate in group discussions more easily while delivering other background sounds more quietly. That way, you aren’t cut off from the sounds around you.
Rechargeable solution
One of the standout features of the Oticon Opn S is that these hearing aids are rechargeable; however, only the miniRITE R comes with the new lithium-ion rechargeable battery.
If you choose the rechargeable Opn S hearing aids, you get a number of benefits. For one thing, you receive a sleek charging station that allows you to charge your hearing aids for three hours for a full day of power. Should you only have time for a quick recharge, 30 minutes will give you five hours of hearing aid battery life.
Streaming music, phone calls, and other things can drain your hearing aids faster, but since there is a short turn around on charging, it is less of an issue with the Opn S.
OpenSound Optimizer
No one wants hearing aids that squeal and screech with sound feedback. Unfortunately, to stop feedback, many hearing aid users are restricted to a certain amount of decibel gain. But with the Opn S, you can have an additional six decibels of sound gain without dealing with feedback, thanks to the OpenSound Optimizer.
With the OpenSound Optimizer, your Opn S hearing aids can analyze sound 56,000 per second, allowing your hearing aids to quickly deliver the sounds to your ears. This sound delivery includes sending 30% more of the speech cues around you. That way, you can capture more sound without struggling with feedback.
Wireless connectivity
A feature that makes a significant quality of life improvement when it comes to hearing aids is the wireless connectivity you can enjoy with the Opn S. With the wireless connectivity, you can stream phone calls, music, TV, and more directly to your hearing aids.
In some cases, you may need a secondary device like the Oticon ConnectClip, but that will be dependent on the style of Opn S hearing aids you choose.
HearingFitness
To help optimize your use of your hearing aids, the Oticon Opn S can be used in conjunction with the HearingFitness feature. This feature is paired with the Oticon ON app, and allows your hearing aids to send information on how much you use your hearing aids, what environments you use them in, and helps you increase the utility of your Opn S hearing aids.
Along with the HearingFitness feature, you will have Kaizn to help you. First personal AI assistant in hearing health care, this AI tool will learn about your listening preferences and help automatically optimize your hearing aid settings.
Four style options
When it comes to the hearing aid styles of the Opn S, there are currently four styles you can choose from. As we mentioned above, only one of these styles is rechargeable. Currently, the lineup is:
- miniRITE
- miniRITE R (rechargeable)
- miniRITE T
- BTE PP
You can choose from seven color options with each of these hearing aids. There are also other feature differences between the four different hearing aid styles. Our hearing instrument specialists can go over with you in-person to ensure the Opn S hearing aid you choose suits your hearing needs.
Tinnitus SoundSupport
As with many Oticon hearing aids, you can have tinnitus relief with the Tinnitus SoundSupport feature. From the Oticon app, you can have your Opn S hearing aids stream soothing sounds like ocean waves or simple white noise to keep your tinnitus from overwhelming you.
Velox S
A significant part of what makes all the technology of the Opn S is the new platform that these hearing aids use—Velox S. One of the main benefits of this technology is that it provides the memory—aka, space—for the upgrades like OpenSound Optimizer, Kaizn, and better rechargeable battery life.
Oticon ON app
Many of the exciting features of the Oticon Opn S hearing aids are used in conjunction with the Oticon ON app. This app allows you to do a number of things, such as:
- Adjust the volume individually on your hearing aids
- Review data from HearingFitness
- Stream audio from TV, music player, and phone
- Find lost hearing aids
- Alert you when the battery is low
- Manage tinnitus treatment
